Zaxel - Digital Cinema Solutions

The Zaxel RGB Video Capture System reduces the datarate of componenent and RBG video by at least 50%, drastically reducing storage requirements and cost while maintaining flawless data quality. The video stream can be captured directly from the camera, eliminating the need for an intermediate storage or transfer device. Perfect data quality is maintained throughout the system; there is no data loss. As well, two sources can be captured to one PC simultaneously.

System requirements:
The Zaxel RGB Video Capture System can be run from an inexpensive, off-the-shelf PC. Requirements include:

Pentium III microprocessor
Windows 2000 preferable, Windows 98
Small, Cheap, Software IDE RAID; no hardware RAID card or external Raid Card (External RAID may be added as an option)
64 MB main memory

System Capabilities:

The video signal from any video camera can be sent directly to an off-the-shelf PC and written to hard disk
Resulting data is identical to original quality, but 50%-75% lower in datarate using Zaxel Lossless Compression (ZLC)
Up to 2 hours of video can be stored on a standard PC; additional storage and archive options are available
One PC can receive the input of two RGB video sources and capture both simultaneously

Application Software:
Several Windows applications are available to work with video data from the Zaxel system:

ZWinCap - a video capture program that captures, compresses, and stores to disks in real time
Zzip - a compression type and image type converter
Zshow - a compressed video player
